Your Care Matters—And Fit Is Important

Choosing a therapist is an important and personal decision. My goal is to ensure that clients receive the type of care that best supports their needs—even if that means helping them find a provider who is a better fit.

I may not be the best fit for individuals who are:

  • I work within an outpatient model of care. If you are currently experiencing active or imminent thoughts of harming yourself or others, or are in a level of crisis that requires more frequent or intensive therapeutic support, I may not be the best fit at this time. My role as an outpatient therapist does not allow for the level of availability that higher levels of care can provide.

Please refer to the Immediate Support tab for additional resources.

Experiencing distress, passive suicidal thoughts, or a history of self-harm does not automatically mean outpatient therapy isn’t appropriate. If you’re unsure what level of care is right for you, I’m happy to help you explore supportive options.

  • My work is focused on depth, processing, and long-term healing, not quick fixes or surface-level symptom management. If you are seeking only brief, directive, or advice-based therapy, another approach may better meet your needs.

  • Therapy requires active participation, openness, and willingness to explore internal experiences. If you are not currently ready to engage in self-reflection or emotional work, it may be helpful to revisit therapy at a later time.

  • At this time, I work exclusively with individual adults. If you are seeking therapy for couples, families, or children, I’m happy to help provide referrals to appropriate providers.

  • Some concerns may require specialized care beyond my scope of practice, such as active substance dependence, eating disorder treatment at a higher level of care, or court-mandated evaluations. Certain conditions, including experiences of psychosis or complex personality-related challenges, may also benefit from providers with specialized training. In these cases, I can assist with referrals when possible.
